Scope: To disseminate information on effectiveness of various corrosion protection systems for construction and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete infrastructure and methodology for its evaluation.
STG 02 Coatings and Linings, Protective: Atmospheric

Scope: Determine uses, application, and performance of coatings for atmospheric service. Atmospheric service denotes industrial and commercial equipment, architectural structures, and bridges.
STG 03 Coatings and Linings, Protective: Immersion and Buried Service

Scope: Determine effectiveness, performance criteria, and quality needs of immersion coatings and lining materials used in immersion service.
STG 04 Coatings and Linings, Protective: Surface Preparation

Scope: Determine effectiveness, performance criteria, and quality needs of various methods of surface preparation for the application of coatings and linings.
STG 05 Cathodic/Anodic Protection

Scope: Develop reports and standards and disseminate technology relative to cathodic and anodic protection.
STG 06 Cleaning, Chemical and Mechanical

Scope: Develop reports and standards and disseminate technology relative to the use of chemical and mechanical cleaning of plant equipment.
STG 07 Computer Applications

Scope: Develop reports and standards and disseminate technology relative to the effective use of computers in corrosion control and monitoring.
STG 08 Corrosion Management

Scope: To promote the exchange of corrosion information resources and standards to improve corrosion life cycle management and to reduce costs.
STG 10 Nonmetallic Materials of Construction

Scope: Develop reports and disseminate technology relative to the use of nonmetallic materials of construction as a means of corrosion control.
STG 11 Water Treatment

Scope: Development of guidance and dissemination of information related to the production and/or use of steam, water, and wastewater.
STG 30 Oil and Gas Production—Cathodic Protection

Scope: Application and evaluation of cathodic protection of all types of equipment used for oil and gas production.
STG 31 Oil and Gas Production—Corrosion and Scale Inhibition

Scope: Application and evaluation of chemical and physical methods of corrosion control and control of related problems, such as scale, bacteria, paraffin, and hydrates, for oil and gas production environments.
STG 32 Oil and Gas Production—Metallurgy

Scope: Evaluation and methods of selection of types of metals for all types of equipment used for oil and gas production.
STG 33 Oil and Gas Production—Nonmetallics and Wear Coatings (Metallic)

Scope: Evaluation and methods of proper usage of nonmetallic materials for all types of equipment used for oil and gas production.
STG 34 Petroleum Refining and Gas Processing

Scope: Application and evaluation of methods of corrosion control and control of materials deterioration for petroleum refining and gas processing operations.
STG 35 Pipelines, Tanks, and Well Casings

Scope: Engineering practices for the prevention and control of corrosion of pipelines and tanks in buried, immersion, and/or atmospheric services.
STG 36 Process Industry—Materials Performance in Chemicals

Scope: To disseminate information on materials performance in various chemical processes by documenting experience with equipment and materials, and drawing up relevant standard practices and test methods for solving industry problems.
STG 37 Process Industry—High Temperature

Scope: To disseminate information on performance of both metallic and nonmetallic materials in specific environments where sustained temperatures of 538°C (1,000°F) are encountered. Document experience with equipment and materials, disseminate information on life assessment techniques, and draw up relevant standard practices and test methods for solving industry problems.
STG 38 Process Industry—Pulp and Paper

Scope: To increase awareness of corrosion problems in the pulp and paper industry, disseminate information relative to the reliable and economic solution of material and corrosion problems, obtain additional corrosion data and experience when needed, and encourage the pulp and paper industry to undertake preventive corrosion measures.
STG 39 Process Industries—Materials Applications and Experiences

Scope: To exchange and compile information on the experience of various metallic materials as related to properties, corrosion resistance, fabrication, weldability, repair techniques, and application in various process environments.
STG 40 Military and Aerospace Systems and Facilities

Scope: To disseminate information and serve as a resource on identification, causes, and control of corrosion and materials degradation for military, aerospace, and electronic systems, equipment, and facilities.
STG 41 Electric Utility Generation, Transmission, and Distribution

Scope: To facilitate identification and resolution of corrosion-related problems of materials in various energy generating and delivery systems: nuclear, fossil fuel, radioactive liquid storage and transfer systems, and in the utilization of geothermal resources.
STG 43 Transportation, Land

Scope: To promote the development of techniques to extend the life of land transportation equipment.
STG 44 Marine Corrosion: Ships and Structures

Scope: To study the corrosion mechanisms, causes, effects, and corrosion control remedies for ships, structures, and equipment exposed to marine environments, and to disseminate information in the form of industry standards and formal and informal technical information exchanges on the research, development, and performance of materials, coatings, and improved or innovative methods to mitigate problems related to marine corrosion.
STG 45 Pollution Control, Waste Incineration, and Process Waste

Scope: To investigate problems, acquire service experience, exchange information, and prepare reports on the use of materials in pollution control equipment, fireside combustion systems, waste incineration facilities, coal conversion and extraction of bitumen from oil sands, and plant effluent process areas.
STG 46 Building Systems

Scope: To collect, investigate, review case histories, and disseminate information on corrosion and scale control in buildings, including boiler water and circulating water systems, remediation of piping, air conditioning, inside and outside coatings, and concrete structures.
STG 60 Corrosion Mechanisms

Scope: Collect, assess, and disseminate information related to understanding corrosion and cracking mechanisms.
STG 61 Inhibition—Corrosion and Scaling

Scope: Study and disseminate information regarding the use of corrosion and scale inhibitors.
STG 62 Corrosion Monitoring and Measurement—Science and Engineering Applications

Scope: Develop and disseminate testing and measurement procedures for corrosive environments or materials in contact with those environments.
